Love Has No Logic
If love has logic then there is no such thing as unconditional love, but…
I was very fortunate to have read two books that illuminate my understanding of love. The first book is “What is Redemption” by Philippe De La Trinite, and the second is “The Trial of God” by Elie Wiesel. The first book profoundly changed my understanding of redemption and what God really meant when He accepted his Son Jesus’s act of love to save mankind. No, the answer is not God punishing Jesus for our sins known as penal substitution, but Christ acted out of love willingly is vicarious satisfaction. Vicarious satisfaction in this context means one person who willingly pays the debts of another, and in Jesus’s case, out of love for man. Since Jesus is the Son of God, when He paid for our debts (sins), God’s justice is satisfied in super abundance and perfection. This concept is similar to you deciding to pay the fine out of your own free will for your neighbour because he couldn’t afford it. In this case, the law has no power to compel the benefactor, but to respect the justice you have fulfilled out of the love for your neighbour. In this sense love is above the law and justice would have no power over love. Justice has logical power in the absence of love to convict, but love willed by another has the power to satisfy justice.
